6 Healthy Habits

6 Healthy Habits

1. Always start your day with a healthy breakfast

As the saying goes, “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”. While I believe that all meals are important, breakfast is definitely a meal you shouldn’t be skipping at all. Consuming breakfast helps to improve focus, satiety, and energy levels throughout the day.

This simply means, you will have more energy throughout the day. You will be more productive at work, will work harder during your workouts, and you may have reduced cravings and hunger later in the day.

2. Stay hydrated!

Water is essential to good health. Are you getting enough? Drinking enough water everyday maintains your body’s fluid balance so that nutrients can be transported throughout the body. Every cell, tissue and organ in your body needs water.

Fun fact: Drinking water helps you feel full. So if you’re having a difficult time controlling yourself from over eating- you know what to do. Jug it up! Many people mistake thirst for hunger and end up overeating, when they should have a drink instead.

3. Set deadlines
Speaking from my own experience, a person can be more efficient and more likely to achieve their goals with deadlines at hand. This eliminates procrastination and makes the goal seem more tangible and realistic. Once you reach your goal and deadline, re-evaluate and set a new goal!
4. Be consistent

In whatever fitness level you are right now, consistency will always be the key.

If you want to achieve that dream bod and weight, you have to be consistent and persistent.

So what does that mean for you? We all have days where we skip a workout or overindulge, but as long as healthy is your default, there is no need to sweat it! What matters most is what you do most of the time, not what you do sometimes.

5. Fill your home with healthy, nourishing & real foods. And of course EAT them!
If you surround yourself with healthy, delicious food choices, you are more likely to pick those foods when preparing a meal or eating a snack. Don’t let the word “healthy” fool you, because eating green leafy foods can be so fun and tasty too- you just have to be creative!
6. Take care of your mental health

It’s not all about physical health, you have to dedicate time for your mental health too.

Having a healthy mental state will help you stay on track with your fitness goals and will allow you to balance your busy and crazy life with ease. It can be meditation, journaling, yoga – or just finding someone who will listen to you without judgement.

Focusing on and being consistent with healthy habits is the absolute best action you can take to get the results you’re after and achieve long lasting change.
